Community Tsunami Education Center & Museum is situated in the Southern Province in Sri Lanka. This is the place where all the memories of the disastrous tsunami that took place in Sri Lanka are stored. It informs the people of the danger of tsunamis and as well as commemorates the tragedy which took thousands of lives in a few huge waves.

Community Tsunami Education Center & Museum has so many things to experience. It starts with geological explanations which include the warnings given before a tsunami hits, after effects, and how their magnitude is measured. You will also be able to witness photos taken after the mishap took place and these are sure to leave a mark in your hearts and minds.

Reaching the destination

From Colombo

Go on McCallum Road and turn right onto Kynsey Road. Go for 450 meters then turn right onto Athurugiriya Road. Turn right onto Southern Expressway and take the exit from the Dodangoda interchange. Turn left onto Ambalangoda road and turn left onto Elpitiya Road. Then after 15 kilometers turn left onto Colombo to reach your destination.

From Ambalangoda

Go on Sangaraga Mawatha and then turn left onto Colombo road to reach your destination.
