About Diyathiri Ella:

Diyathiri Ella is located in the Nuwara Eliya district of Central Province of Sri Lanka, and it is a must-visit magnificent waterfall by a traveller. The waterfall, which is 30 meters in height, is a cluster of the Maha Oya River. Diyathiri Ella is formed on the northwest slope of Gentry Box Mountain. The water from this falls runs through 125 km to the sea at Waikkal, located at the north of Negombo in the Kammala area. Diyathiri Ella is clearly visible when travelling through Nawalapitiya – Dolosbage Road, and it is an eye-catchy roadside cascade.

How to reach the Diyathiri Ella:

Nawalapitiya in Nuwara Eliya District is the nearest town to this waterfall. From here, you should take the road towards Dolosbage and travel about 20 km. Diyathiri Ella is situated between Meenagala Estate and a protruding rock face. Diyathiri Ella is just beyond 17 km away from Galamuduna Junction.
