Flood Plains National Park is one of the four national parks put aside under the Mahaweli River improvement venture. The recreation center was made on 7 August 1984. The national stop is arranged along the Mahaweli flood plain and is viewed as a rich sustaining ground for elephants. Flood Plains National Park is viewed as an elephant hallway for the elephants move amongst Wasgamuwa and Somawathiya national parks.
