General Tsunami Photo Museum is situated in the Southern Province in Sri Lanka. It has a collection of memories of the Tsunami events. It includes newspapers, photographs that tell the tragedy that hit Sri Lanka back in 2004. This is a good place to be visited with your family and friends as there’s so much information to gather.
Things to know about General Tsunami Photo Museum
The General Tsunami Photo Museum is being run by Mrs. Kamani De Silva. She is also one of the survivors who experienced and witnessed the terror of the tsunami. This is what makes the museum even more mesmerizing. You can enter the museum free of charge but donations are always welcomed.
Reaching the destination
From Colombo
Go on McCallum Road and turn right onto Kynsey Road. Go for 450 meters then turn right onto Athurugiriya Road. Turn right onto Southern Expressway and take the exit from the Dodangoda interchange.
Turn left onto Ambalangoda road and turn left onto Elpitiya Road. Then after 15 kilometers turn left onto Colombo to reach your destination.
From Ambalangoda
Go on Sangaraga Mawatha and then turn left onto Colombo road to reach your destination.
