Little Adam’s Peak is situated in Bandarawela. It is named the Little Adam’s Peak aka “Punchi Sri Pada” which is the name given after Adam’s Peak. It is 1141 meters in height and a famous tourist site that is not missed by anyone who visits Bandarawela.
About the destination
Little Adam’s Peak gets its name because it resembles Adam’s peak in both the shape and form. This shouldn’t be confused with Adam’s peak because Adam’s Peak is a tough and long ride though the Little Adam’s Peak is a little exciting hike that is loved by all.
If you are starting the hike from Ella it will take 1 hour to reach Little Adam’s Peak.
Hiking in Little Adam’s Peak
Hiking in Little Adam’s Peak is fun as it has plenty of stairs and the path is very clear and easy to go through. Here you can see tea pluckers collecting tea leaves in style and modesty. This is quite a good view but you may have to turn your head full-on 360 degrees as it has so many amazing things to see. It takes about 35-45 minutes to reach the top of the mountain on a zig-zag path. This is the perfect place to watch the sunrise as it will give you a full view of the whole scenario.
Reaching the destination
From Colombo
Get on the Katunayake Expressway from Darley Road. Take Southern Expressway. Follow Colombo – Galle – Hambantota – Wellawaya Highway to Wellawaya-Ella-Kumbalwela Highway drive to your destination in Uva Province.
From Bandarawela
Take Bandarawela-Poonagala-Koslanda Road. Continue on Bandarawela – Badulla Road, Beragala-Hali Ela Highway. Continue on Ella – Passara Road and drive to your destination.
