Midigama Beach is a quiet beach situated in Midigama village on the southern coast of Sri Lanka. It is a secluded beach with very few people. It is considered as the Weligama’s baby brother. This is a beautiful and perfect place to relax your heart and mind.

About the destination

Midigama Beach is a host surfing spot on the southern coast of Sri Lanka. If you want to go around the best way is to rent a scooter according to your stay. A scooter will probably charge around $6-$8 per day. If you prefer you could also hail a tuk-tuk if you are not good at riding a bike.   

You can also visit coconuts, rams, plantation points, lazy left, and lazy right which are the 5 surf spots in Midigama that are located a short distance from each other.

Things to do in Midigama Beach

Midigama Beach is good for surfing as a popular surfing spot. If you can want something more you could engage in activities like swimming and snorkeling. This is also a great place to watch fishermen stand on fishing tilts as it is an amazing sight to see. The place is surrounded by small surf shops and restaurants where both locals and tourists gather together.

If you wish you could also visit coconut hill, secret beach, Mirissa beach, and parrot rock which are close to Midigama beach.

From Colombo

Go on McCallum Road and turn left at Ibbanwala onto Dr. Colvin R de Silva Mawatha. Turn right onto Kynsey Road and turn left onto Dudley Senanayake Mawatha. Turn right onto Athurugiriya Road and merge to the Southern Expressway. Exit from the Pinnaduwa interchange and turn right onto Southern Expressway Access Road. Turn left onto Colombo- Wellawaya Road to reach your destination.

From Galle

Turn left to Samagiwattha Gama Road and turn left onto H.K. Edmond Mawatha. Turn left onto Circular Road and turn left onto Colombo – Galle – Road to reach your destination.
