The Mohini falls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls located in the coolest spot in Nuwera Eliya, the Central Province of Sri Lanka. The water that flows through the Mohini Ella falls goes under the Hatton – Nallathanniya Road and mixes with the Maskeliya Reservoir. The waterfall is of about 30 meters in height. Observing the Mohini Falls flowing down is a breathtaking sight and it resembles the veil of a woman. For some reason, locals living around the area believe there is a female devil inhibiting the surrounding area. This female devil is referred as Mohini, and even few of us would have heard myths or truths about this devil. Usually, fearing this Mohini devil, travelers totally avoid visiting this waterfall in late evenings and nights. However, the beauty of this waterfall cannot be missed to be admired. It is surrounded by lush green trees and perfect for beautiful photographs.
