Mutukelina Wewa is situated in Galaha in Sri Lanka. It is a very calm but very secluded place. You will not see the crowd you see in other famous places in Galaha.
About the destination
Mutukelina Wewa is surrounded by mountains and the wewa lies 1000 meters above sea level. It has a surface area of about 15,000 square meters but this place is not a major attraction but the view from the lake is just appeasing. If you can get to the top of the ridge which is near the lake you will be able to enjoy one of the most stunning views of the Kandyan hills.
Reaching the destination
From Colombo
Go on McCallum Road and continue on Colombo – Katunayake Expressway. Take the Outer-Circular exit and turn right onto Colombo-Kandy road. Turn right onto Anagarika Dharmapala Mawatha and turn left onto Kandy-Kirimetiya Road to reach your destination.
From Galaha
Go on Deltota Watha Road toward Galaha Road and turn left onto Moragalla-Galaha Road to reach your destination.
