Nelligala International Buddhist Center is a Buddhist temple built in the year of 2015 in Muruthalawa, Kandy. The Temple is located at the top of the Nelligala Mountain.

This temple is visited by both Buddhists and non-Buddhists. The natural environment is mind soothing. When you enter the site you will get a vibe of entering a palace. The temple is well-maintained and it has a high-quality architectural value in its construction design.

About the location

The road is well carpeted til top of the temple, so you can access it very easily by a vehicle, and its a good place to meditate for a while.

Reaching the destination

From Colombo

Go on McCallum Road and enter the Colombo-Katunayake Expressway from Colombo. Take the exit toward the outer circular expressway and turn right onto Colombo-Kandy road to continue for 85.9 km.

Turn right onto Malgammana Road and turn left onto Godamuduna-Kiribathkumbura Road. Turn left onto Aladeniya-Eriyagama Road and a sharp left onto Nelligala Road.

From Kandy

Go on Baladaksha Mawatha to Getambe Kandy ByPass and turn right onto Gannoruwa-Muruthalawa Road. Turn left onto Aladeniya-Eriyagama Road and a sharp left onto Nelligala Road.
