Peanut Farm is situated close to Arugam Bay in Sri Lanka. Despite its name, this is a famous surfing spot that is quite popular among foreigners and locals who visit the area.
Peanut Farm is situated in the Eastern province of Sri Lanka. This place has two beaches one which has smooth and gentle waves that are good for beginners and the other has challenging waves that are better for an expert. The reason for its name as the Peanut Farm is back in the past there had been peanut plantations which were sadly destroyed by the 2004 tsunami.
Peanut Farm is an exciting place for surfing. All surfers with different skill levels can surf and get the maximum fun out in this place. Not just surfing but you can also engage yourself in challenging swimming. This is a unique place for surfing is because it is accessed through an off the beaten track route. This is a place where all the fun begins.
Go on McCallum Road and turn right onto Kynsey Road. Go for 450 meters then turn right onto Athurugiriya Road. Turn right onto Southern Expressway and take the exit from the Beliatta interchange. Then you have to turn right onto Wellawaya By-Pass and turn right onto Colombo-Batticaloa Road. After the roundabout, take the exit onto Panama road and turn left to reach your destination.
You have to turn left onto Manal Road and then turn right onto Panama Road. After 5.6 kilometers turn left to reach your destination.
