The Peradeniya botanical gardens which is located in the hill capital, about 5km to the west of the city center at Peradeniya. Once you visit Sri Lanka you may notice that the place is a popular attraction for locals as well since the a variety lawns of the garden boasts of a range of flora from all over the world.
And also Peradeniya botanical garden is near to Mahaweli River which is the longest river in Sri Lanka. The location and the surroundings of the garden are matching to spend leisure and it’s a fantastic place to attract the tourists. Peradeniya garden is 110km from Colombo and nearly 6km from Kandy. Additionally the garden is located by Kandy – Colombo main road which is known as A1.
It is renowned for the collection the range of Orchids, and has more than three hundred types of Orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palms trees attach it’s the National Herbarium. Total land mass of the botanical garden is 147 acres, 460 Meters higher than sea level with a two hundred day annual rain fall.
Peradeniya botanical is open daily from eight.07.30 am to 5.00 pm and the tickets are issued until 5.00 pm. There are two types of admission fee ranges for the visitors and the tickets are valid of the purchasing date only.
