Tangalle Navy Monument is situated in Tangalle in Sri Lanka. This was built in memory of the soldier who died due to the 30 years long war that took place between the Sinhalese and Tamil tigers.
Tangalle Navy Monument is a very special monument and quite a beautiful one. When you are entering you will have to remove your shoes and it is recorded there has been a lighthouse in this place but it is not here anymore. You will be able to witness very beautiful paintings which are drawn on the walls which highlight the history of Sri Lanka.
Go on McCallum Road and go on Colombo – Katunayake Expressway. Continue onto Southern Expressway and you have to take the exit from the Beliatta interchange. Turn left onto Beliatta – Walasmulla Road and take the 2nd exit onto Colombo- Wellawaya Highway to reach your destination.
Go on Colombo- Wellawaya Highway for 700 meters to reach your destination.
