Medaketiya Beach is situated in Tangalle in Sri Lanka. It has great waves which can be used for enjoyable surfing.

About the destination

Medaketiya Beach is located in the Southern Province in Sri Lanka. This is also a good place to go on swimming and you will notice that it is less crowded when compared to other beaches. You will also find good accommodation places in the area and there are mangrove plants alongside the beach which add even more glamor to the beach.

Reaching the destination

From Colombo

Go on McCallum Road and go on Colombo – Katunayake Expressway. Continue onto Southern Expressway and you have to take the exit from the Beliatta interchange. Turn left onto Beliatta – Walasmulla Road and turn right onto Tangalle -Beliatta Road. Then turn left onto Colombo- Wellawaya Highway and turn left onto Medaketiya road to reach your destination.

From Tangalle

Go on Colombo- Wellawaya Highway and turn left onto Medaketiya road to reach your destination.
