Kothduwa Temple is situated in the Southern Province in Sri Lanka. It is believed that this temple uses to shelter the sacred relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Kothduwa Temple currently has five priests and also several novice monks study at this place. The fourth incumbent of the temple is Ven. Omaththe Punnayasara and it is recorded that he has lived 30 years in this place. This could be a very crowded place during peak seasons which could hike up to 1000 devotees per day.
Go on McCallum Road and turn right onto Kynsey Road. Go for 450 meters then turn right onto Athurugiriya Road. Turn right onto Southern Expressway and take the exit from the Dodangoda interchange. Turn right onto Aluthgama-Mathugama road and turn left onto Colombo Road. Then turn left onto Ahungalla – Uragaha Road and turn left onto Sanwardana Sabaha Mawatha to reach your destination.
Go on Ambalangoda – Batapola Road and then right onto Madhawa road. Then turn right onto Ammpe Road and turn right onto Sanwardana Sabaha Mawatha to reach your destination.
