The reason for its name as the Peanut Farm is back in the past there had been peanut plantations which were sadly destroyed by the 2004 tsunami.

Not just surfing but you can also engage yourself in challenging swimming. This is a unique place for surfing is because it is accessed through an off the beaten track route. This is a place where all the fun begins.
Go on McCallum Road and turn right onto Kynsey Road. Go for 450 meters then turn right onto Athurugiriya Road. Turn right onto Southern Expressway and take the exit from the Beliatta interchange. Then you have to turn right onto Wellawaya By-Pass and turn right onto Colombo-Batticaloa Road. After the roundabout, take the exit onto Panama road and turn left to reach your destination.
You have to turn left onto Manal Road and then turn right onto Panama Road. After 5.6 kilometers turn left to reach your destination.
