Streams that originate from Knuckles mountain range creates beautiful waterfalls around the area. Huluganga Falls is one such beauty. Falling below the Hulu Ganga bridge, this waterfall is 75 meters in height.
About the location
This is a waterfall that can be viewed during every season. Even in dry season, there is enough water to make a beautiful waterfall for the traveler. The flowing water is used by the villagers in Elliyadda and Araththana, before it flows to the Victoria Reservoir. This waterfall is very easy to reach. When you come to the small town of Huluganga, in the town itself there is a bridge called ‘Huluganga Bride’ The waterfall flows under the bridge, so that you cannot see this from the main raod. There is a staircase build to climb down,to the right-hand side of the waterfalland you need to buy a ticket (30/= Rupees) to access the staircase and viewpoint. However, it restricts people from bathing and washing clothes near the waterfall.
However, the staircase has blocked the entrance to the waterfall from other directions. Because of this, it offers only a few camera angles for photographers
The waterfall became famous years ago when it became the primary location for the popular teledrama “Ella Langa Walauwa”. Bamabarella road is dotted with a number of waterfalls that you can cover in a single day. This is the easiest waterfall you can see among them on your waterfall hunt along Banbarella road.
