Its name is driven by the fact that its shoreline is full of mature casuarina trees. This place is quite famous among the locals during the weekends.

It is good to keep in mind that this place tends to be very crowded at weekends. Also, the shore is not a good place for a dip as people could keep staring which may make you uncomfortable. It is better if you can get hold of a fisherman who will boat you to the middle of the waters so that you can enjoy your little secluded swim.
How to reach Casuarina Beach
From Colombo
Take Colombo – Katunayake Expressway and Kandy Road. Then you have to take Mannar Highway to Jaffna. Take Jaffna-Ponnalai-Point Pedro Road and Jaffna-Manipay-Karainagar Road, Ponnalai Causeway to Beach Road to reach your destination.
From Jaffna
Take Stanley Road to Jaffna-Manipay-Karainagar Road. Take Jaffna-Ponnalai-Point Pedro Road. Then you have to continue on Karainagar Circular Road to reach your destination.
